The Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick is a newer item that has been in stores since earlier this year; I believe since the spring. They never really caught my eye until I noticed that a lot of beauty gals on YouTube just loved them (namely TiffanyD, Amarixe, and EmilyNoel83 aka Beauty Broadcast). I decided to pick up this one in Torch, which is a more neutral color combination.
Smoky Shadow Sticks include two colors: a lighter shade for highlighting, and a darker shade for the lids or crease. They are designed to be highly pigmented and not budge on the lids. They are chubby pencils in form and promise crease free wear throughout the day. Torch includes a light champagne pink shade and a chocolate brown shade, both of which are shimmery/frosty.
How I’ve been wearing it:
These are SO easy to wear and perfect for a natural, simple look! I’ve been wearing mine with MAC’s Groundwork paint pot as a base, the brown side of Torch on the lid, and the pink side as a highlighter on the brow bone and inner corner. I add Urban Decay’s 24/7 eye liner in Mushroom as a final touch, and my lids are totally done and they stay all day without creasing, as promised! This look is super easy and I have been wearing it a lot for that reason.
So how does this shadow perform? After application, blend quickly, as these set right away! The shadow is very pigmented and stays all day long, right until I take it off at night.
- Highly pigmented
- Lasts all day
- Doesn’t crease
- Affordable- $8 at most drugstores and convenience stores
- Travel friendly
- Limited shades
These are available in I believe five or six shades right now. I wish there were more! I did pick up another one, Flare, which is the purple stick. I actually can’t stand purple as a color, but it makes my hazel eyes pop!
What do you think of these shadows? Have you tried them?
