ELF Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer is one of ELF’s newest products. Having tried the $1 concealer (which is terrible, in my humble opinion), I was skeptical about the one from the studio line. I am happy to report that this concealer has great performance and coverage!
Maximum Coverage Concealer provides blendable, wearable, customizable coverage for body and face. The Oil Free formula is perfect for hiding tattoos, birth marks, dark circles, blemishes, scars and more. Highly pigmented for for long-lasting, ultimate coverage and confidence! For extended wear, finish with the e.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set.
This concealer is available in six shades: Porcelain, Sand, Nude, Beige, Tan, and Almond. It is $3 for 0.7 ounces, making it extremely affordable like most ELF products.
Swatches in sun and shade, left to right: Cargo Blu-Ray, ELF Studio, Laura Geller Real Deal, Revlon ColorStay, MAC Studio Finish
Of the swatches above, the ELF concealer has a similar consistency to the Laura Geller concealer; of these two, I prefer the ELF concealer. It lasts longer, is easier to work with, and provides better coverage. The consistency of the ELF concealer is very creamy, making it easy to blend and dab as needed. One thing I love about this concealer is that it doesn’t shrink and dry up on the skin around the concealed areas, and it doesn’t settle into lines. The finish is dewy, so I recommend setting it with a powder, which is something I always do anyway.
I apply this concealer with a Sigma P88 Precision Flat Angled brush, and simply pat it over the area I want to conceal. Sand is a perfect match for my current skin color; when it comes back in stock, I am going to pick up Nude as well. The coverage of this concealer is great- it really is “maximum coverage” for me.
One negative of this concealer is that the shade selection is not the greatest; the darkest shade, almond, seems more like a deep tan, so darker skin tones may not be able to find a match.
Overall, I absolutely love this concealer and would definitely purchase it again! Have you tried this concealer?
