I’m the first to admit that I’m a total Fossil snob when it comes to my purses. Most of my purses are from Fossil because I love the quality and design of their bags. I also like large bags and live pretty close to a Fossil outlet where I can get amazing deals! Anyway, I recently picked up a new purse from Marshall’s from the brand R & J Handbags, an extension of Romeo & Juliet Couture.
Offering a progressive perspective on handbags by way of contemporary shapes in lush fabrications accented with custom designed hardware, R+J Handbags presents the solution for every woman searching for convertible function without sacrificing style. With close attention to detail, our designs are based on key trends with a twist – just enough – never too much.
In looking at my new bag, I think this is a pretty accurate description!
This is a pretty big for a purse, but I’m always toting books and magazines, sweaters, dog leashes, and whatever else I might need along with me when I’m out and about, so this is a great size. It was actually marked down from the Marshall’s price of $40 to a clearance price of $15. Considering the retail price was $68, I’m pleased with my find.
The bag is very well made and has a unique design. The side panels have a textured faux snakeskin pattern while the front is sports simple lines of gray and white. The entire bag is outlined in cobalt blue. I thought these colors would make the perfect transition for winter to spring.
The R + J logo is on the bottom front in sturdy silver letters. The construction of the bag is very sturdy and well-made, evidenced in the straps. I find that purse straps are very telling in how a bag will hold up. Most of the time it is fairly obvious when the straps are loose or not stitched well (another reason I usually stick with Fossil).
Overall, I’m pleased with my find and would definitely purchased another one of their bags, like this adorable Corina tote!
Update: This is called the Peyton Tote!
