Revlon definitely makes the best lipsticks in the drugstore. I absolutely love the Super Lustrous line and they have a huge array of colors! Yesterday, I was going through my stash and picking out a few things to use this week, and decided to grab Primrose because I haven’t worn it enough for how pretty it is!
Application: Primrose is a very creamy lipstick with good pigmentation. I used two coats for full color, which is fine by me because I prefer something a little buildable.
Feel: It is creamy, but it will still accentuate dry patches. Using a balm beforehand, or something like MAC Prep + Prime will help with smooth application. The finish is glossy, so you won’t need a lip gloss on top.
Color: Primrose is a purple leaning pink. It is very cool-toned, which is something I like about it! Purple tones with lips seem to be pretty popular right now, so if you’re into trends, you may want to pick this up!
Staying power: This isn’t as long wearing as it only lasts a couple hours before fading. I don’t really mind that because I usually have to reapply lipsticks anyway, as I’m always drinking something.
Price: These lipsticks range from $5-$7 at most drugstores and convenience stores, so they are really affordable!
Here are some swatch comparisons with other cool-toned pinks. The Primrose swatch looks pretty similar to Pink Pout; however, they are completely different on the lips. Pink Pout is more pigmented, and it is also matte. On me, Pink Pout is darker than Primrose as well.
What do you think of this shade? I love it!
I think it looks beautiful on you. What i like about your make up choices in general, is that they are so often very similar to what i personally would select. And this is def a lipstick i would go for. Even thought i think Pink Pout would suit me a bit better as an every day color. What do you think about Rimmels Vintage pink?
Thank you, Luchessa! 🙂 I have not tried Vintage Pink! I will have to check it out! One I think you would like (that I will be reviewing soon) is Revlon Pink Velvet. It is SO beautiful!
i can’t wait 😉 Im sure its something that i will enjoy. 😀
