So, I’ve been on the hunt for my perfect red. There are a couple shades from Revlon that I love, including Cherries in the Snow (more of a pink red), as well as Cherry Blossom. Those reds are gorgeous, but I wanted something with a little more punch; a little va-va-voom so to speak. Well, I believe Ruby Woo is that red lipstick for me.
Ruby Woo is probably one of MAC’s most famous lipsticks. It is the ultimate pin-up girl red, as it is a retro matte texture, meaning it is truly matte with no sheen.
Application: Despite the dry texture, I didn’t have a problem applying this; however, I do prefer it with a layer of MAC Prep + Prime since it is winter and my lips tend to be on the dry side.
Feel: For me, the texture of this makes it very comfortable to wear. I don’t even notice I am wearing lipstick; it is that lightweight for me.
Color: This is SO vivid! It is a blue-based red, great for making your teeth appear whiter.
Staying Power: This will last for hours if you aren’t eating anything; if you are eating, a touch up is likely needed, depending on what you eat. I eat A LOT of salads and usually and oil based dressing, so of course it’s not going to stay through that! 🙂
Price: $15 at MAC online and counters.
I wear Ruby Woo with MAC’s Cherry lip liner for a stronger look and to avoid any feathering that might occur.
Not gonna lie, I totally feel glamorous when I wear Ruby Woo and definitely have my staple red now!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! You are rocking that red! I LOVE IT!! would you believe I don’t have it!!??? Love your review =)
Thank you! Definitely the best red I have tried, and HG status red!
It’s a great lippy!
Stunning!
Ruby Woo looks great on you! Thanks for the review. And using Prep and Prime Lip is a great tip! I’d never heard of it before today. Do you find it works better than a standard lip balm?
Thanks for the sweet compliment! 🙂 I’m glad you found the review helpful. I find that Prep and Prime works a lot better for me than lip balm, in that it doesn’t slide off with the lipstick like some balms can. 🙂
