Hey everyone! Wow, it feels like I haven’t posted anything in days, but I guess it has been awhile, huh? I had a really busy weekend with my brother and sister visiting, which was super fun of course! This morning I had to bring one of my dogs and one of my cats to the vet. Since there is a Wal-Mart nearby, I decided to stop in to see if they had the new Flower Cosmetics line by Drew Barrymore. I believe this brand is exclusive to Wal-Mart. After seeing the collection in person, I have a few thoughts on it.
First, the idea behind this brand is that Drew promotes it so there is no need for advertising. Supposedly this brand also uses the same ingredients and formulations as high end brands. I’m not entirely sure that I believe this considering some of the reviews I have read, but everyone has such varying opinions that it’s hard to tell without trying it out for myself.
I spent some time in the cosmetic aisle checking out some of the products that piqued my interest. Being an adorer of powder and eyeshadow, I of course checked out the eyeshadow quads and the pressed and loose powders. The loose powder colors are not visible through the obscenely bulky packaging, but they come in three shades. The eyeshadow quads are mostly neutrals. I had my eye on the Blue Lagoons quad but did not purchase it. It’s $10 and from what I have read, one of the shades is really chalky.
The lip colors are impossible to view through the packaging, and the packaging is so bulky that it would have to be the most perfect and unique shade ever for me to purchase it because there is no way I would want to tote that around in my purse. They’re enormous!
The cream blushes are pretty small but have some nice shades; I’m curious about wear time. The packaging is not bulky on these either. The cream shadows are also interesting, but I do wonder about creasing and wear time with those.
I did not purchase any makeup products from the Flower line; these are just some thoughts I had while browsing. I did purchase two nail polishes: Gorgeous Gerbera and That’s Just Dan-De-Lion.
What do you think of this line? Do you want to try it out? Have you tried it out?
