My Ipsy subscription for March arrived today, and once again I’m really happy with it! This month’s theme is “The Great Escape”, i.e. vacation time. Since I am going out of town for a weekend soon I can appreciate this theme. If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy, it is a monthly subscription bag that is $10, and promises 4-5 beauty products. Each month comes with a different bag as well. This is my second month with Ipsy, and you can see my first bag here.
Now, onto this month’s bag!
First, let’s look at the bag. Is this not adorable? I am a nautical JUNKIE and will use this like crazy! Love love love the navy blue and white.
The bag also came with a 1 ounce bottle of Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist. I love Juice Beauty, so I was really excited to try this out, which I did so this afternoon. This mist promises that you will “tone and hydrate with this refreshing blend of rosehip, ylang ylang, resveratrol grapeseed oil and antioxidant-rich organic juices for a fresh, radiant complexion.” There’s a full ounce here and it is plenty to decide whether or not I like it, but the smell rather strong and kind of strange. I am so used to MAC Fix+ (lovely scent), so this is a little strong in the scent department as of right now. Still, I am happy to test it out more!
The bag also came with LA Fresh travel sized makeup removing wipes. These are always handy and I will definitely get use out of these. So much better than lugging my Neutrogena wipes around in the big box.
The next item is a small GlamRX palette. This is a magnetized palette with a mirror inside, similar to a Z-Palette. The GlamRX palette is a lot smaller though; about the size of a driver’s license or credit card, maybe a little larger.
Finally, the last items are two eyeshadows from Yaby. There were two different sets of shadows you could have received this month, and mine are the neutrals: Seashell and Azalea Petal. The shadows are very small; as you can see here they are the size of my fingertip! They are magnetized and fit into the GlamRX palette. While I appreciate what Ipsy is doing here, these shadows are terrible! Seashell seems like it might work as an eye brightener, but I won’t get any use out of Azalea Petal. My eyes are deep set and I need something that is going to show up. Overall, the shadows are very chalky and I certainly wouldn’t choose these over the other amazing shadows I have (SORRY, I’m an eyeshadow snob!).
Not wanting to end this on a negative note, as a whole I am happy with the bag. There are things I will use here and the adorable bag is probably my favorite part of this month. 🙂
