The Wet ‘n’ Wild Megalast lipsticks are definitely one of the gems of drugstore makeup. They’re only $2 each, and come in an amazing array of colors: dark, light, neutral…and many of them are MAC dupes. Purty Persimmon is a coral red orange shade that has been said to be a dupe for Sail la Vie from MAC. I don’t have either of those, so I can’t compare them, but I have seen many blogs and YouTube videos that show them side by side, and I’d have to agree that Sail la Vie and Purty Persimmon are very similar in color, if not identical!
It’s that time of year when I’m breaking out my corals and bright colors, so I started wearing this more because I haven’t spent too much time with it since I purchased it last fall. This shade is so great for summer! I was hesitant because I didn’t know how the warmth of this color would mesh with my skin, but this ended up being one of those great “shop your stash” rediscoveries!
The Wet ‘n’ Wild Megalast lipsticks are matte or semi-matte; Purty Persimmon actually has quite a bit of shine compared to the other shades I have. Like the others, it is very long wearing (around 4 hours depending on what I’m eating/drinking or if I’m talking a lot). These also tend to be on the drying side, but with a little bit of balm underneath, that won’t be a problem.
Lately, my go-to look has been a super natural eye and a very bright lip, and Purty Persimmon fits the bill. The only thing I don’t like about this lipstick is the name. It is seriously one of the WORST names I’ve ever heard for a lipstick! Anyway, if you are afraid of bright lipsticks, but want to try them out, I highly recommend the Wet ‘n’ Wild Megalast line! If you don’t like it, you can always return it if you shop at stores like Walgreens (always check the return policy), but if you can’t, you’re only out a couple of dollars. 🙂
