Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop

Anyone who reads beauty blogs likely knows all about the lip butters by now. I remember when these came out and everyone was raving about them, but I got into them slowly. I’m not one to go out and buy something in ten different shades right when it is released. Slowly, I have accumulated quite a few lip butters over the past year, and Lollipop is one of my favorites! Temptalia compares this shade to MAC Show Orchid lipstick and NARS Schiap lipstick.

Lollipop is a fuchsia pink with some bluish purple shimmer. What I like about Lollipop, besides the amazing color, is that the shimmer is not gritty at all. I had the Peach Parfait lip butter, which also has shimmer, and it was so gritty that I had to throw it out because I couldn’t stand wearing it! Lollipop is not like that at all.

Lollipop has a glossy, creamy finish. I find that the lip butters don’t have the longest staying power; maybe three hours or so, but I’m not expecting them to be long wearing, so that doesn’t bother me. Lollipop is hydrating and doesn’t try out my lips either.

lollipop4If you’re afraid of bright colors, Lollipop is a good color to experiment with! These run in the $6.50-$8 range depending on where you shop, so you won’t be out much money if the shade doesn’t work for you. If you love pinks, I consider this one a must have! I feel like it brightens my complexion and a color like this one just makes me happy.

Now, compared to my other lip butters, this one is VERY pigmented on the first swipe. It could be sheered out with some blotting if you are expecting something more sheer, or something with medium coverage. What do you think of this shade? What are your must have lip butters?
