First Impressions: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer!

TM2

In a recent trip to Sephora, I picked up a sample of NARS Pure Radiant tinted moisturizer. I’ve never been a big fan of tinted moisturizers, but firmly believe that is because I haven’t found one that I like! 🙂 I’ve been using the Laura Mercier one from my Sephora 500 points perk, which I am a fan of so far and will do a review on soon.

The NARS tinted moisturizer makes a lot of big claims in its description:

Infused with lush, naturally derived ingredients, this lightweight tinted moisturizer immediately helps thirsty skin feel hydrated. It has been proven to help reduce the appearance of discoloration and dark spots caused by hyper pigmentation for a clearer and brighter complexion in just four weeks. Oil-free and luxurious, it obscures the appearance of lines, wrinkles, pores and other imperfections. SPF 30 adds a translucent veil of protection.

This product is formulated without harmful ingredients as well, like parabens, phlalates, and GMOs.

™Eight hours after application, no powder touch-ups.

My sample is in the shade Medium 1 St. Moritz, which is “medium with a neutral yellow undertone”. This looks really dark in swatches compared to what I usually wear, and the yellow undertones look very strong to me. Next time I go back to Sephora, I am going to get a sample of this in Groenland, which is “light medium with neutral pink to peachy undertone”. The strange thing is although this looks too dark for my complexion, it blended in perfectly!

I really like the natural looking finish to this. It has some coverage and evens out skin tone, which is perfect for me since I don’t need a lot of coverage. I did notice a little bit of shine after the seven hour mark, but I simply reached for my beloved powder and the problem was solved.

NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe, NARS Pure Radiant in St. Moritz, Laura Mercier TM in Sand, Physician’s Formula BB Cream

In looking at the swatches above, you can see why I thought this would not work with my skin color, but I did read a few reviews where others experienced the same thing regarding color matching.

I’m not sure if this is the perfect tinted moisturizer for me, but I really like it and will continue to use my sample until it’s finished.

I think this looks great on you, did you ever try the lighter shade? Either this is the perfect tm or you have the perfect skin, or both!

I never did try the lighter shade- I’ve been thinking about trying this again though, so I may have to revisit it! 🙂
