I have very pleasant memories of dusting myself in baby powder after an evening shower or sauna as a kid. Lush Silky Underwear Dusting Powder ($6.95 for 2.1 ounces) seemed like the perfect grown-up version of that ritual, and just the simple action of using it makes me smile! Still, not only does this smell good, it truly is silky and can be worn easily during the day as a fragrance. I take my shower in the morning, so this works out perfectly.
Having just read Scents & Sensibilities by Mandy Aftel, jasmine is fresh in my memory, having been fascinated by its description in the book. According to Aftel, jasmine is “the most important perfume material”, and it takes “more than two-thousand pounds of flowers to produce a little less than two pounds of jasmine concrete.” Some may disagree and find rose more important, but either way jasmine is a staple in the world of fragrances.
All of the ingredients in Silky Underwear are natural:
Cornstarch (Zea mays) , Kaolin , Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Magnesium Carbonate , Fragrance , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum officinale) , Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides) , *Cinnamyl Alcohol , *Benzyl Cinnamate , *Linalool
Dusting powders are not only used for fragrance, but primarily used for absorbing body oils. Lush has also introduced new packaging for this product, as it comes in a handy shaker bottle now, rather than the canister I have.

On Lush’s website, you can even watch a video on how this product is made! I really like this powder and would definitely purchase it again. Hopefully I will be able to try the Vanilla Puff dusting powder sometime soon as well. Silky Underwear is also a vegan product!
Have you tried the dusting powders? What do you think of them?
