NARS Summer 2013 Eyeliner and Eyeshadow

Months ago when NARS released their Summer 2013 collection promo images, there were two products I was really excited about: the Barrow Street eye pencil and Euphrate eyeshadow.

Described as a “frosted mint steel”, Euphrate ($24) is subtly unique. Though it may look like a regular cool-toned, silver shade, the mint reveals itself in the pan and on the lid. It is very frosty, but it is a nice change from warmer highlighting shades.

Barrow Street ($24) is what I couldn’t wait to get my hands on! Cool-toned, matte, and a lovely seafoam green shade, this is so much more fun and unique than the standard flesh tone to use for lining the waterline. I love how this brightens up my eye looks and enhances the greener shades of my eye color.

Barrow Street comes with a built-in sharpener and it applies easily, but I find it does need to be built up a little for opacity. This lasts all day on me. The only thing I don’t like is that it gets dirty easily when wearing with other products, but that is to be expected on eyeliners. Because this is so light, the dirt just shows more. That said, it’s easy to wipe off residue without wasting product! I do wish that this pencil was a little softer in terms of how it applies. It doesn’t pull, but it doesn’t glide on like Urban Decay pencils either.

Euphrate is very versatile and I’ve been pairing it with all sorts of other colors, especially taupe shades. It is long lasting and doesn’t crease, and is very pigmented. It is just another excellent eyeshadow from the NARS brand, like the others I have and love.

Did you get anything from the NARS summer collection? What do you think of these shades?
