My Tarte Blushes: Swatches and Mini Reviews!

tarte4

Last night I got a text message from a friend about Tarte blushes, and I thought this would be the perfect time to blog about the ones that I have, and which ones I like the most. If you don’t know by now, Tarte blushes are, quite frankly, amazing and worth every penny of their $26 price tag!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish for an amazing 12 hours. Inspired by Tarte’s bestselling shades of cheek stains and lip tints, the colors range from soft to vivid to suit a wide variety of skintones. For oily skin types, Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place. Those with dry skin will benefit from the clay’s nourishing and hydrating properties, which naturally restore skin’s moisture.

tarte3Flush, Buff, Exposed, Achiote, Frisky, Tipsy, and Magic – In the shade

I have six full sized Tarte blushes and one mini blush.

Flush is described as a “deep berry” shade, but it definitely borders on the magenta/pink side of berry. I believe this shade may have been limited edition, as it isn’t on Sephora or available at Tarte’s website. This color is VERY pigmented and I prefer it in the fall and winter months. Flush is a matte blush.

Buff is a beige/nude with some sparkle to it. This shade isn’t for everyone, but I love brown toned nude type of blushes (like MAC Gingerly), so I do like this one!

Exposed is a pink nude shade and universally flattering. This was my first Tarte blush and I have already hit pan on it! I would definitely buy this again, and it has a matte finish.

Achiote is one of the more unique blushes that I have. I thought this was limited edition, but it is still on Sephora’s website. If it is limited edition, I definitely want to get another because the color is so pretty. It’s almost a pinky peach with red in it, and I don’t have anything like it. I love how it looks on my skin, as it looks very much like a natural flush.

Colors in the shade

Frisky is a reddish, hot coral shade with some shimmer in it. I originally swatched this at Ulta and fell in LOVE! This color is fun and great for summer.

Tipsy is classic coral with a matte finish. You can’t go wrong with this shade in the spring and summer. It really brightens up the face.

Magic is the mini blush that I have, which I bought on eBay because I didn’t want the entire set it came with (the Fantastic Foursome blush set released in the fall). This is a pink coral shade compared to the orange coral of Tipsy. It is VERY pigmented!

These blushes have amazing staying power. They do not fade and stay on my skin until I take my makeup off at night and easily live up to their 12-hour claim.

My favorites of the bunch are Exposed and Achiote.

I’m hoping to pick up new shade soon, maybe Dollface. What are your favorite Tarte blushes?

  1. I have achiote! I love it. I try to stay away from the shimmery ones, though.

Hi! What is the bottom right blush? Looks like an exposed dupe…. 🙂
