Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream in BB5

I received two very generous sample packets of Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream ($48) with an order I placed at Nordstrom. Never having tried Jane Iredale before, I was pretty excited to try it! The shade I had was BB5, which is for light to medium skin tones. This is most definitely not for medium skin tones; I couldn’t even wear this out of the house because it was so light on me. There are only six shades available too, so it may be tricky to find a match. Not even bronzer could help this shade; it looked totally unnatural on me.

Only wearing Jane Iredale BB cream…with a case of the Caspers!

Despite not working for me due to the shade, I did develop some opinions about this BB cream. First, it is very on par with Asian BB creams. The coverage is definitely full and it does have a brightening effect. The pigmentation on this product is incredible. You need a very tiny bit to get coverage, not unlike Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. If you can get your hands on a sample, you will probably get at least three to five uses out of the packet. It is very easy to go overboard with the application, and you will look immediately cakey if you apply too much!

The application of this product is tricky. It dries quickly, so you need to work fast. Because it is so thick, I recommend applying it with a sponge like the Beauty Blender, which will help avoid getting it stuck deep in brush bristles.

This BB cream has excellent coverage. You won’t need concealer with this, so is truly a one step product, maybe two if you want to use a primer due to it drying so quickly. Personally, this BB cream was a bit heavy for my taste, but I think for someone wanting a fast makeup routine and heavier coverage, this product would be a dream!

The texture of this BB cream is very creamy; I actually love the texture of it, as it feels very luxurious! While I don’t think this product was for me, I can see why people like it if they want something with full coverage that will last for a long time.

What do you think of this product? Have you tried it?

Seems like it would be great for me, but $48? Eek. I use BB creams or tinted moisturizers on “makeup down-days” so I don’t have to buy my expensive foundation as often. This would definitely not help with that! 🙂
