I’m not usually one to combine lip products very creatively, so that is something I’ve been trying to do more often. I’m definitely the slap on a lipstick or gloss and go type. I also am fussy about how things are layered, because I can’t stand having a heavy feeling on my lips!
Two lip combinations I have been enjoying recently are the OCC Lip Tar in Hush combined with Boots No. 7 lip liner in Nude, and MAC Sweet & Sour lipstick with MAC Boy Bait Cremesheen Glass (mentioned in my June favorites post!).
I haven’t had the Boots liner very long. Many times I’ve picked it up and mulled it over, only to put it down. Because it was created by Lisa Eldridge, I decided to invest in it after hearing it is the most amazing lip liner in the world. At first when I was applying it, I wasn’t even sure if I was wearing it because it is practically the exact same color as my lips!
While these all look pretty similar in the camera swatches, they are more distinct in their differences in real life, particularly on the lips. Left to right: Heart, squiggly line, and first line are all Boots No. 7 Nude, followed by Too Faced Perfect Lips in Nude, NYX Peekaboo Neutral, and MAC Subculture. The Boots liner is the closest match to Subculture, but they are different textures, with Subculture being more dry.
My next lip combo is the one that I am OBSESSED WITH! I think I used half of this Boy Bait Cremesheen Glass already. My husband also said this combination made him want to kiss me, so that naturally makes it a win!
Sweet & Sour lipstick from MAC with Boy Bait on top! -Sorry I look all sweaty and disheveled. MAJOR humidity…
Both combinations are pretty warm toned; I love the second combination the most because it is brighter and so summery, but still really wearable.
