MAC Simmer Mineralize Blush

MAC Mineralize Blush in Simmer ($25) is part of this summer’s Tropical Taboo collection. Described as “burnt rose with peach/gold pearl”, this tends to lean reddish on me with a peachy sheen that provides a nice highlight. This is actually my first mineralize blush, though I have plenty of MSFs. This blush also works well when paired with Adored Mineralize Skinfinish, which is also part of the Tropical Taboo collection.

Of the blushes in this collection, Simmer caught my attention because it seemed different compared to other colors that I have. Thanks to the pattern of the blush, intensity can change due to what side you are using, but I like to just swirl my brush in it and go.

Some may find that this emphasizes pores. I did not notice that with myself, with a shimmery pearl finish, that is something to look for if you have larger pores in the first place. This blush is also VERY pigmented, so use with a light hand. You can see in the swatches above how pigmented each side is, as well as how they look blended together. The golden peach side is so pretty combined with the reddish/deep pink rose shade; it actually looks more burgundy in the pan, so it’s a little different on the skin.

This lasts the majority of the day on me, and doesn’t start fading until around the seven hour mark. If I need to freshen up my makeup, I blend out what is left and add a little more if needed.

Overall, I love this blush! It is unique to what I have already, and I love how it looks on my skin.
