Cream blushes are hugely popular in the summer, which is no secret, so I thought I would share my favorites. I don’t have many cream blushes and honestly favor mid-range to high-end over drugstore in this beauty category. I have a few cream blushes from the drugstore, including ELF HD, NYX, NYC blush sticks (discontinued, but great), and Revlon. Actually, I do not have the Revlon blushes anymore because Pinched didn’t show up on my skin tone, and Coral Reef dried up just a few months after I purchased it, sadly.
The best cream blush at the drugstore, at least that I have tried, has to come from NYX. Boho Chic ($6) is a gorgeous blue-toned pink that looks very natural. It lasts all day and while many reviews state that this blush has shimmer, I honestly haven’t noticed any in mine. Even though I accidentally cracked the lid of this one, it’s still going strong and hasn’t dried up.
Cargo Color Stick in Key West ($28) is a beautiful baby pink! I love this color and would definitely purchase this again. I had the good fortune to find this just a few months ago at Sephora, marked down to $7. This is incredibly creamy and glides onto the skin. This is supposed to be multifunctional in that it can be used for the lips and even eyelids, but I’ve never tried it anywhere but my cheeks.
MAC Something Special ($21) is a light coral blush that I purchased this spring. It’s coral. Need I say more? Well, I guess I do. The formula is long lasting and fantastic! Very easy to blend and just pigmented enough.
Cargo, Stila, MAC, NYX
My favorite of the bunch is Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera ($25). This is the prettiest shade of pink I’ve ever seen! It’s a warm peachy-pink color that is intensely pigmented and has a tacky feel to it, but not once it hits the skin. It blends easily and is very long lasting. A little goes a long way with this color. I would buy this over and over again. It also looks amazing with a peach blush over it, like MAC Cream Soda from the Archie collection.
