Another month gone by, and we are inching closer to fall. Also, it’s this blog’s one year birthday in August! My my, time flies to be cliche. Anyway, July was a major whirlwind for me. My aunt was in town for a couple days, my sister came to visit, my parents visited after that, then I went to visit my sister…you get the idea. It was a lot of running around! There was also some incredibly hot weather with those long days, so I wanted makeup that would stay put. Here are my July favorites!
MAC Matchmaster foundation in 2.0– This foundation is amazing; love at first wear! I can’t believe how well it stays on! It definitely worked on those nasty 90-100 degree days (yuck!). I will be reviewing this sometime in the future.
Pro Z-Palette- I have been shopping my stash and trying to wear stuff that hasn’t gotten much love lately, including this z-palette. This is the pro size and it is mostly full of Urban Decay palettes with some other products mixed in. I wasn’t using the Book of Shadows IV because the box was so bulky (though gorgeous), so I depotted it awhile ago to get more use out of it. Shades I used the most: UD Bust, UD Missionary, UD Skimp, and Revlon Nude Slip.
NYX HD Eye Shadow Base– Wow, this is a major gem! This stuff is amazing! I have been using it daily with a MAC paint pot, and I love how it smooths out my eyelids. This is so important for someone like me who has deep set eyes.
MAC Prolongwear Bronzer in Sun Dipped– I love this bronzer because the texture is so soft and silky, and it blends so easily. This is definitely one of the best bronzers I’ve ever used, if not the best!
MAC MSF in Adored– This is such an amazing highlighter shade. I have been layering this over blush, and then using the lighter beige part to highlight for a lovely glow!
Elle bronzing brush– After hesitating on buying this brush from Kohl’s, I decided to get it since I caught a sale and had a coupon. I really like how this brush is shaped and I have been using it with Sun Dipped. It distributes just the right amount of product and the angle makes it easy to apply.
Sonia Kashuk foundation brush– This is a paddle type brush from the limited edition Brush Couture set that is currently available in stores and online. This set must be popular, because it is on backorder for 2-4 weeks. The whole kit is worth it just for this foundation brush!
Sonia Kashuk hair brush (not pictured)– For years I have been using an Ouchless Conair brush and wanted something more gentle. I like the Tangle Teezer, but only when my hair is wet. When I read rave reviews of the SK brush that compared it to the famous Mason Pearson brushes, I decided to upgrade from my other brush. I really like how gentle it is, and how it smooths out my long locks.
Kat Von D Saint palette– This is my first foray into Kat Von D’s eyeshadow palettes, and I love it! This is a gorgeous neutral palette, but different enough from the Naked palettes to warrant owning yet another one. The colors are pigmented and incredibly easy to blend.
Coach glasses case- Normally, I am not a fan of the typical Coach designs, but I really liked this glasses case! It’s white with a subtle “C” design, and the inside is a rich chocolate brown. I bought this from Marshall’s while shopping with my aunt.
