Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara Review!

Before Grow Luscious, I’ve never tried a Revlon mascara. In my humble opinion, Maybelline reigns supreme with drugstore mascaras, so that is the brand I usually branch out to try the most. Mascara is one of those products where I rarely buy the same one. If I do, I KNOW that I love it!

Grow Luscious is an incredibly affordable mascara: I only paid $5 for it. I’ve heard many raves about it, and have read that it is a dupe for Diorshow, which is a mascara that I have tried and loved (I wore it on my wedding day).

Grow Luscious has a huge wand and a formula that is on the dry side. The wand is not as big as Benefit Bad Gal or Diorshow, but probably the biggest brush I’ve come across in the drugstore. On Makeup Alley, this has an average rating of 3.2; 50% would buy it again out of 595 reviews, which is a considerable amount. Some report seeing lash growth. It seems like this would take a considerable amount of time for that to happen. Still, I didn’t buy the mascara for that purpose, so I’m not disappointed.

The formula is thick and it’s difficult to apply multiple coats as it starts to get clumpy after the first. It does make my lashes look thicker, but I don’t see any considerable increase in length.

Despite being a little clumpy, I actually like this mascara. I am going to try mixing it with something else to get the length I desire. It doesn’t flake on me, doesn’t cause raccoon eyes, and it didn’t irritate my eyes. It wasn’t difficult to remove, but it also wasn’t as easy to remove as other mascaras, like L’Oreal 24 Hour Black Smoke (obsessed with that still). By making sure the brush isn’t coated with too much mascara, it is easier to work with the clumps.

Another thing I noticed about this mascara is that it held the slightest bit of curl for me. That NEVER happens with my lashes! It wasn’t dramatic by any means, but it was noticeable to me.

I think this mascara is worth a try. If you hate it, you aren’t out of much money, and if you love it, you have a new, affordable mascara favorite! I would purchase this again, especially if I find something to mix it with that achieves the length I want.

I love this mascara, too – especially for the price (and because I can use coupons to buy it!) I use it as a 2nd coat after my Benefit “They’re Real!” to make my more expensive mascara last longer.

I rarely try other mascaras too aside from Maybelline ones. The Falsies has been my go-to these days. But this looks like a good product to try!
