If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know my love of face powders. Maybe it’s the white combined with the holographic packaging, but I couldn’t resist trying out this fairly new powder from Physicians Formula, the Super BB powder ($13). This can be worn alone or with the BB cream of the same name.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION (from PhysiciansFormula.com)
- 1st ever Beauty Balm Powder form for a smoothing effect that instantly diffuses the appearance of imperfections, evens out skin tone and minimizes the appearance of pores.
- Weightless powder acts as a protective veil from UV damage & moisture loss so skin looks and feels smooth, glowing and naturally flawless.
The product is packaged in the standard PF container: it’s bulky, comes with a bad brush, but has a nice sized mirror. These compacts are also easy to depot if you choose to do so.
This powder only comes in two shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Deep. I have the light variety and it has a little bit of shimmer to it, which is not visible on the skin, but rather gives it a glowing, natural sheen. The coverage of this powder is amazing! I wish this had been around in my teenage years. It blocks out any redness and is so easy to apply. I used a powder puff from MAC, but I think I prefer application with a fluffy brush, like the one from Real Techniques. The texture of the powder is very soft, and I love how it feels on my skin. It isn’t heavy and doesn’t make me feel greasy.

This powder actually does everything it claims to do. I think this is perfect for summer days; slap it on before heading to the beach, or just carry it in your purse for touch ups. The only downside is that it only comes in two shades. I had no problem with the color match, but those who are very fair might find this too dark. The finish is so natural and it doesn’t look cakey.
This is a great powder for those looking for a drugstore powder with coverage. I recommend it for those with normal to dry skin; I could see this being a little slick for the oily skinned set, but you won’t know until you try it!
Have you tried this powder? What do you think of it?
