Earlier this summer, I received a generous sample of CK One’s new foundation, the 3-in-1 face makeup ($30) that claims to be a primer, serum, and makeup all rolled into one. It’s pretty obvious that this *is* indeed makeup, but what about the rest?
This distinctive liquid synthesizes serum, primer and face makeup into one simple, weightless formula. Triple-treated pigment technology mimics skin for an effortlessly natural, radiant finish. No compromise on skin perfecting coverage. Antioxidants protect skin, lasting up to 11 hours.
The shade I have is 300 Sand, which is the third shade in the line. There are eight shades total: Porcelain, Fair, Sand, Bisque, Tan, Honey, Caramel, and Cappuccino. Sand is a bit cool toned but proved to be a good match for me. Since I’m neutral, I can generally get warm or cool foundations to work for me, though I do prefer cooler tones.
There are so many things I like about this foundation. One of them is how easy it blends! I absolutely love the consistency of this foundation. It is simply effortless in its application. I use a Sigma angled-flat top kabuki to apply this foundation and it is probably the easiest foundation I’ve ever applied, because it just blends itself! It doesn’t streak, settle into pores, or look cakey. The finish is very natural; I would say it is more of a satin finish and not flat out dewy. It doesn’t dry out my skin and looks quite nice throughout the day. As it fades, it isn’t patchy. It appears to give an “inner glow” that is quite natural.
This isn’t a full-coverage foundation, but light to medium coverage. As for eleven hours of wear, that might be a bit of an exaggeration. It lasts a good portion of the day for me, but definitely not eleven hours. I would say I can go for eight hours of decent wear when set with a powder.
My favorite part of this foundation is that I can’t feel it on my face. It is SO lightweight!
The ultimate verdict? I like it and would definitely consider purchasing the full size bottle in the future.
