I’ve wanted to try to the Physicians Formula Mineral Airbrushing powder for awhile now, so when I saw this kit with three products for a mere $15, I couldn’t pass up that deal considering the powder alone is usually $13. I purchased the kit in the shade Medium, which was a good match for my skin tone.
All of the products are very soft and quite pigmented, especially the blush! The packaging is really cute too. The vibrant blue shade is pleasing to the eye, and I like the soothing waves appearance of the product design. Each powder is housed in Physicians Formula’s standard case with the cheap and useless brushes (sorry, but it’s true…).
You don’t need much powder to get the job done; be careful and don’t apply too much, especially if you are wearing foundation underneath! It WILL look cakey. I would recommend using this with tinted moisturizer or alone for that reason. Also, the powder is very luminous; so much so that you could probably get away with using this as a highlighter. I felt like it magnified my pores a bit when pressed into my skin, but with a light dusting using a fluffy powder brush, it wasn’t as much of an issue. I do like that this powder contains SPF 30! The shade in the medium kit is called Beige, which was a good match for me.
The bronzer is a nice light brown shade and it doesn’t have any sparkle. I wouldn’t call it matte; maybe more of a satin finish since it has a bit of a sheen. It provided just the right amount of color.
The blush, which is my favorite from this kit, is called Rose, and it is VERY pigmented. It is a deep pink, but use a light hand so you don’t go overboard (which I did the first time around and had to reapply, not expecting the pigmentation!). The flush it gives is very flattering, and would suit many skin tones!
Wearing all three…you can really see the sheen!
I am going to experiment with the powder more to see what can be done about the intensity of the sheen. I like the finish, but it is a little intense for my liking overall. Alone, the powder has great coverage, and I’m not wearing anything but the powder in the photo above (no foundation or tinted moisturizer). This isn’t going to replace my Maybelline powder by any means, but I can see myself getting some use out of it.
As a whole, I think this kit is worth picking up if you want to try some new things. I love the blush and would definitely purchase it again!
Have you tried any of these products?
