I have a seriously hard time resisting Urban Decay. Combine that with a serious love of face powder, and you have me with the new Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder ($34)! This powder comes in five shades: Light, Medium Light, Medium, Medium Dark, and Dark. Each shade correlates with a color range from the Naked Skin foundation. Since I found a good match with samples in the 3.5-4.0 range, I purchased my powder in Medium Light.
It’s the next evolution in Naked Skin. Designed to be virtually invisible once applied, our high-tech, jet-milled powder has an insanely silky texture that feels amazing on your skin. Optical blurring pigments instantly minimize imperfections, diminish shine and create a stunning soft-focus effect that looks professionally retouched.
The powder comes inside of a purple floral bag, which is helpful in keeping fingerprints off of the mirrored packaging.
I love the packaging of this powder. It is so sexy and luxurious. It matches the bronzed color theme of other items in the Naked line-up, and it is very sturdy. While Benefit’s Hello, Flawless! powder packaging feels and looks cheap (in my opinion), this is a major step up from that!
The powder comes with a large sponge that is housed in the bottom of the compartment; it also comes with a large mirror. This packaging doesn’t waste space, which I always appreciate! The packaging as a whole is also quite slim for how much is packed into this little square.
As far as performance goes, I really like this powder! It is soft, finely milled, and lasts for a long time. Coverage is buildable with this powder. It can easily be used as a setting powder, or as something with a little more coverage to wear alone, over a tinted moisturizer, or BB cream. Since I’ve spent the majority of the last month in a hurry and on the go, I’ve been trying to make my makeup routine fast and easy. What I love about this powder is that I can wear it alone and it still does everything it promises to do. It looks so natural and just like skin, not like cakey makeup!
In wearing this alone, I am SO happy with it and would definitely purchase it again. I haven’t used it with UD Naked Skin foundation yet, but I do have some samples on hand, so I will try it out soon. I’ve been wearing this powder mostly alone or with a tinted moisturizer. Wearing it alone, I don’t have to do any touch ups for over six hours, which is great for a powder product.
The verdict? Definitely worth the high price tag!
