Lipstick Week Day 5: Top Five Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks!

LW2

No, I have not abandoned Lipstick Week! πŸ™‚ Today I’m showing my top five Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks. These are the best lipsticks in the drugstore as far as I’m concerned. The range is huge in color and texture variety; PLUS they are bringing back some older shades in 2014, including one from the 1960s, which I am really excited about (Jungle Peach). Anyway, here are my top five with swatches!

LW5

In order of swatches:

Primrose– I have a whole post about this lipstick, but this is still favorite. It’s a creamy, cool-toned pinky lavender, and one of the most popular shades in the line.

Cherries in the Snow– When the MAC Marilyn collection was released, people kept saying this was a dupe for Love Goddess. NO, no no no. Love Goddess is a dupe of THIS. Cherries in the Snow is an iconic shade that has been around since the 1950s. MAC, you duped Revlon with this one. I also have a post about this shade here.

LW4Pink Velvet– Another one where I have an entire post dedicated to it! This color is so pretty and flattering. It’s a very classy pink that anyone could wear.

Pink Pout– Continuing the trend of lipsticks that I’ve blogged about, you can see my Pink Pout post here. This is a cool-toned, matte pink. Supposedly a dupe of MAC Snob, but I do not own Snob.

LWRose Velvet

I had a hard time picking the last favorite, but ultimately went with Rose Velvet. This color is so womanly and beautiful to me. I think it would look incredible on those with deeper skin tones. It is brown-toned, but very sophisticated.

Do you have any favorites from this lipstick line?

If i have a hard time to decide which lipstick to wear (or to buy new) i just need to stop by your blog and get great suggestions. It’s good to have a blogger with such a similar taste πŸ™‚ Seriously, from all of your shown lipsticks here – i would wear’em ALL! ❀

I adore Cherries In The Snow, when my affair with red lips began this was one of my early favorites and the fire has not yet died between us. Is it really a dupe for Love Goddess? I desperately wanted for that one and now it is on eBay going for unmentionable amounts of dollars.

I have to ask, how did you find out that Revlon is bringing back vintage shades? Is it on their website? (Which I will not visit again because it keeps freezing up my cellphone internet.)

I recall reading on a MAC forum (Specktra) that Love Goddess is extremely similar to Cherries in the Snow. I don’t have Love Goddess, otherwise I would compare them! About Revlon, I found out on their Facebook page. They were voting on shades!
