My Favorite Lip Balms

Lip balm seems to be one of those products that a lot of people feel strongly about. While someone might be “meh” about a particular blush, many people cling onto their favorite lip balms with an interesting ferocity! I am not a huge lip balm fanatic. I don’t feel the need to try every new one that hits the market, but I am particular about what they do and how they perform. I have dry lips, so I need something really moisturizing. Here are some that work for me.

Korres Lip Butter in Quince– I purchased this on my Chicago trip in April, curious about it due to rave reviews. To be totally honest, I bought this shade because my border collie is named Quincy, and we often call her “Quince.” 🙂 I don’t like the not-so-hygenic tub, but I like the product. It gives a hint of color and moisturizes well.

Isana Fruit & Gloss balm in Mango and Guava– This is actually a gift from Luchessa and I love it! The consistency is so nice, and it keeps my lips feeling soft and conditioned. It has a slight pink tint.

Blistex Lip Medex– Not glamorous, but provides serious relief to dry, chapped lips. I usually wear this before I go to bed.

EOS Lip Balm in Pomegranate– My favorite EOS balm is lemon, but pomegranate is what I have right now. I don’t like these for conditioning as much as I like them for lipstick primers. A huge con of these, for me, is that my dogs LOVE to eat them.

C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve– This is probably my favorite of the bunch. It is soft in texture and just melts into my skin. It really conditions my lips and relieves them of dryness and cracks.

What are your lip balm favorites?

Funny, lip balm is actually one of those beauty products I am generally not that wrapped up in. I understand the fervor amongst other people because chapped lips are both uncomfortable feeling and unpleasant looking, but I do not often get them. Maybe because my go to beauty product for too little moisture is petroleum jelly. On my face, my lips, my knees. Slather it everywhere. Old-fashioned and effective.

I don’t get the excitement generated about when a new lip balm hits the market. I gave into the hype with the Red Velvet Chapstick, and then when I got it…nothing special! A lip balm is just one of those things that needs to work. And those Nivea lip butters? YUCK

I accidentally fell in love with Jack Black’s Intense Lip Therapy balm. I don’t even care that it’s designed for men, or that it’s kind of ridiculously expensive, or that I have to get it at Ulta/Sephora.

Oh i think i missed this post, when you posted it in october. Glad you liked the lip balm. It’s one of my go-to balms when i want something with a little pearl. 🙂
