ELF Pout Perfecter in Glow- Review and Swatches

The ELF Pout Perfecter ($3) is a very sparkly, shiny lip gloss that is designed to brighten your lips and make them look more full. I purchased this out of sheer curiosity, having passed by it many times. Is having a product just for illuminating the lips a gimmick? Let’s find out!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Create more volumized, fuller looking lips with the optical illusion of the Pout Perfecter gloss. The sheer pearl gloss instantly transforms your dull lip color to a defined light reflecting glow. This makeup artist secret can now be yours for picture perfect fuller lips, everyday!
How to use: Just dab a little bit of the Pout Perfecter onto the center of the lips for the illusion of shine and fuller lips.

The Pout Perfecter is very pretty. I love the color in the tube, and the shine that it has. Unfortunately, on the lips it is just not comfortable to wear. It is VERY thick and clumpy when worn as a gloss. When applied over lipstick, you don’t need much at all. If you apply too much, it will make your lip product break up like it would if you were eating oily salad dressing. Honestly, I think it made my lipstick look terrible straight out of the container, so I would make sure to remove all product from the wand and then dip it in a little at a time to slowly build product.

The ELF Pout Perfecter only comes in one shade: Glow. I like the idea behind this product, but wish the formula was thinner, and that it came in more shades, like a white gold or champagne color. The color is gorgeous and very reflective. I think this would be a great product if the formula improved!
Have you tried this product, or is it a waste of time?
