Happy Friday! I hope you’re having a great week. I have a busy weekend ahead of me, but it should be fun. Today was a good day for running, since I finally broke my best mile time (and earlier this week went on my longest run yet). All credit goes to the miserably cold conditions and the lovely drizzle accompanying me. 🙂 Anyway, I thought I would share a few things that I run with pretty much every time I go out, besides the obvious (iPod!!!!).
Bondi Band ($8)– This is just a stretchy headband that I got from the running store. I have this neon one and then another one that is darker. It is lightweight, keeps my ears warm, and doesn’t budge while I’m out!
Manzella gloves ($15)– About a month ago, I went to the running store looking for a pair of gloves suitable for running in 30-50 degree weather. These are nice and lightweight but still keep my hands warm. If I need to take them off, they are easy to just pack into my next item….
…the Marika waist pack ($10)! I got this from Marshall’s and I literally never go running without this. I use it to keep my iPod in, and my keys if needed. This doesn’t move and I don’t notice it while I’m running. I usually wear it under my shirt so it doesn’t look like my body is cut in half. 🙂
One thing I’ve been incorporating into my running routine is NOW Peppermint Oil ($8). I dab a little bit onto my temples and it really wakes me up. I feel a burst of energy when I use it, and the smell is amazing too. I used to use peppermint oil all the time while I studied in college, and now I’m coming back to it.
These aren’t the only things that help me with my runs, but these are just a few staples that are affordable and keep me going. Do you have any must-have running gear or rituals that help you work out better?
