Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette Review!

SG1*Sent for review

The holidays are one of my favorite times of year for makeup. It’s so fun to bring out the sparkle and glam with glitter and a bold lip! This Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye palette allows you to do just that with everything in one place.

SG2This palette comes with a cardboard sleeve that slides off and reveals this chic black and grey opening.

The inside of the palette houses four eyeshadows and a blush. The eyeshadows are the perfect combination to create a smokey holiday eye, as the name implies!

The inside of the palette also has a detailed chart to show how to use the palette. One downfall is that this palette does not contain a mirror if that is something you look for.

Here are the colors close up. As you can see, the white shade and the gold shade appear a little chunkier than the silver and black. This is because they have some glitter in them, and they are more sheer than the other two shades.

The silver shade is the smoothest in the palette. It is pigmented and really gorgeous! The blush is also incredible; it is very pigmented and easy to apply. All colors stay on all day and have great longevity.

This palette is $25 at Studio Gear’s website. This is on the expensive side considering some of the other holiday palettes that are available at this time; however, for what you are getting, this is still affordable. At the same time, I think the price could be a little lower considering it doesn’t come with a mirror. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for me, but even the small $10 Stila palettes come with a mirror.

I had great staying power with the shadows and the blush. The gold and white shades are quite sheer and frosty, but good for that “holiday sparkle” effect. There are no matte shades in this palette, but the shimmer in the black color is very subtle and barely visible. The blush is pink with gold shimmer.

What I really like about the black shadow is that it is user friendly. Sometimes black shadows are so pigmented that they require perfect precision. This is buildable, so you don’t have to worry about going overboard on the first swipe, which I appreciate!

This palette is a nice stocking stuffer and would be a great gift for someone who is just starting out with makeup. This is also my first time trying something from Studio Gear. I am planning on purchasing some makeup brushes from the brand, and was happy to see my palette is made in the USA.

If you’re interested in this palette, you can get it for 10% off with the code SGHOLIDAY at Studio Gear.
