Another new lippie frenzy is upon us! I usually don’t go completely bonkers when a new lip product rolls out; I buy a shade or two and see how I like them. This is my try with the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. I actually haven’t heard the best reviews with these, so I was reluctant, but this shade, Unapologetic, was so vibrant that I just had to have it! I’m glad that I did too!
This shade reminds me of MAC Party Parrot lipstick. It is hard to describe; kind of a hot coral/pink/red shade. It is VERY pigmented. There’s nothing sheer about this color, but I imagine you could blot it a bit for less intensity.
Because it is matte, it does have a tendency to be on the dry side, but I can wear this for a few hours without it drying. It lasts through eating and drinking without a problem, and doesn’t have a patchy fade, which is nice.
I have dry lips, so when the color does begin to fade, I remove it instead of applying more, because the dry patches are obvious. If you don’t have dry lips, you will find this incredibly long lasting. This shade did stain my lips as well.
The texture of this is soft for a matte; however, with balm in the name I guess that is something to be expected!
I had a hard time capturing this shade on camera because it is so bright, but when you see the tube in the store, it is the same color on the lips. These pencils retail for $6 to $8 at places like Walgreens, Target, and other convenience stores. I picked up mine at Meijer during the Revlon 40% off sale a couple weeks ago. Since I love this one so much, I am planning on picking up another shade, maybe a pink one.
Have you tried the Revlon Matte Balms yet?
