Mary Kay TimeWise Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation Review

MK

My BFF is a newly minted Mary Kay consultant, and sent me a bunch of samples to try, including the Timewise Luminous Wear liquid foundation, and the matte foundation. Both samples are in the shade Beige 2, which is a great match for me (similar to NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe). Good job matching me, D!

The sample packet is very generous and lasts for 2-3 uses depending on the amount of coverage you’re looking for. I found the coverage to be medium to full, and it is buildable.

I liked the coverage and finish, but since I like matte foundations more, I probably will purchase the matte foundation over the luminous finish. That said, this foundation has a nice brightening effect. The texture is soft and it is very easy to blend. I used a stippling brush at first, but found that I preferred using a Beauty Blender, which gave me the best result. I also didn’t use concealer at all, since it had enough coverage for me.

Without primer, this wore for about seven hours before it started to break down on my skin. I didn’t find that I looked super shiny or anything, but I do prefer to “control” my highlight by mixing small amounts with my foundation, or by applying powder/liquid/cream highlighters.

This is a good foundation for someone who wants brighter skin in one step, as it has good coverage and a pretty finish.
