So…I’m going through a bit of a lippie obsessive moment this month. Between new lippies and cream blushes from my own stash, I’m having a little moment of glory, basking in the sun of pretty colors. I saw a YouTuber talk about these lipsticks from CoverGirl and they looked so gorgeous, so went to find one and ended up with all three. Isn’t that how it happens?? Not to mention that I HATED my first CoverGirl lipstick and pitched it. Well, here we go with three more tries. 😉
Creme, Honeyed, Delicious
There are three new shades in CoverGirl’s Lip Perfection line up: Delicious, Honeyed, and Creme. All of them are creamy with no shimmer (yay, no chunks!). They are on a new display with Pink’s face on it and also come with three new shades of CoverGirl’s jumbo lip pencils (which I have never tried). They appear to be permanent shades, as I’ve seen them in permanent displays as well.
Delicious is a dark mauve with purple tones. It is very much keeping with this year’s Radiant Orchid Color of the Year, so if you’re looking for a budget friendly lippie in that shade range, this is a great option. This has good coverage and the texture isn’t heavy.
Honeyed is my favorite of the bunch, and is the one I would consider backing up if it were limited edition. This color was love at first sight! Lo and behold, it’s a medium, neutral pink. 😉 This went on just like Delicious.
The texture on these is so much better than my original try with CoverGirl. These are creamy and glide on without tugging. They are pretty average with staying power; maybe two to three hours depending on what I’m doing, but I don’t mind, because I am a “low commitment” color wearer in the lipstick department. I’d rather it fade away after awhile than to have it stuck on my face for ten hours (just personal preference!).
The price points on these will vary depending on where you shop. Convenience stores like Target and Meijer carry the CoverGirl lipsticks for $6, whereas they are more expensive at drugstores like Walgreens, in the $8 to $9 range.
I’m really happy with these shades, especially Honeyed! I’d skip Creme and go for one of the Maybelline nudes instead if you’re looking for a nude. Even better, go for the big budget nudes from Wet ‘n’ Wild, both the Fergie and regular line, which are fantastic!
