Awhile back, I posted that Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder was on my beauty lust list. After some time went by, I finally decided to pick this puppy up! I’m so glad that I did, because it IS as amazing as the hype.
This is probably the most finely milled powder I’ve ever used. I can’t believe how soft and silky it is! My main concern with this powder is that it would leave a white cast, like so many white powders do, but I haven’t had that issue with this since I apply it sparingly.
I’ve been using this to set under eye concealer. I find that highlighting concealers tend to illuminate my dark circles, so I just use MAC Pro Longwear concealer to cover up the circles, and this powder to set it. With that method, I can cover my circles and set the concealer, and it stays all day long.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Create the appearance of the most naturally perfected skin, while maximizing the wear and coverage of makeup. This transparent white setting powder brightens, lightens, and boosts luminosity. Formulated with light-reflecting micronized pigments, this super-soft weightless powder delivers a soft radiant finish, never settling in fine lines, accentuating shadows, or building up on skin.
I honestly expected this to be just like every other white powder out there, but the Secret Brightening Powder really exceeded my expectations! I have pretty deep lines under my eyes (always have, but age isn’t helping!), and this powder combined with a good concealer diffuses the intensity of them, which is appreciated. 🙂 I have no complaints about this powder and definitely recommend getting a sample of it to try if you are looking for something like this!
What brush do you use to apply this? I have a sample of this sitting in the corner of my drawer and I haven’t used it yet. It might be time to break it out and see what it’s all about 😉
I use the ELF contour brush since it is so small! 🙂
