Easy Candy Yum Yum Tutorial

I never understood feeling like a rock star in a lipstick until MAC’s Candy Yum Yum came into my life. Hot pink? YES, please! I was just telling my beautiful friend Zenorah that when I wear Candy Yum Yum, I feel like an amazing goddess. Ha ha…sounds silly, but it’s true! 🙂

Since this lipstick is so bright, I usually keep the rest of my face pretty simple while wearing it. Although this looks like a TON of stuff, it took less than fifteen minutes to apply.

C41- After moisturizing, I applied BB cream. I didn’t wear a primer, and just used my Hydroxatone BB cream (still loving this!). After that, I applied NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard under my eyes.

2- Next, I finished my brows with the Anastasia brow powder in Dark Brown, and set my brows with Benefit’s Gimmie Brow.

3- Apply blush- I used NARS Love blush from their new spring line. After that, I applied MAC’s Whisper of Gilt highlighter. This is LE, but any gold highlighter will do. I apply highlighter by tapping my brush into the pan and lightly brushing over my cheekbones, and very lightly on the center of the forehead and chin; highlighting for those in in a hurry. 😉

4- It’s time to work on the eyes! I kept it simple with Urban Decay’s Naked Basics palette. After applying MAC’s Groundwork paint pot as a primer, I followed these steps:

  • Naked 2 all over the lid and up to the crease
  • Faint all over the lid
  • Walk of Shame all over the brow bone, blended to the crease
  • Venus in the inner corner of the eyes
  • Crave on the top lash line for liner

5- To finish the eyes, I used Bare Minerals Voluminizing mascara, with a little bit of Butter London’s Pistol Pink mascara on top.

6- Now it’s time to get to the good stuff: Candy Yum Yum! First, I used Tarte’s EmphasEyes pencil in nude to outline the outside of my lips, then I blended it in using my fingers.

7- After applying MAC Prep and Prime, I filled in my lips with MAC Silly lip pencil, which is also hot pink. This is an LE lip pencil, but there are all kinds of pink lip liners out there. Apply Candy Yum Yum to finish the lips.

8- The last step I took was applying my beloved Maybelline matte powder and finished everything with Kat Von D’s Lock ‘n’ Load setting spray.

That’s it! Since Candy Yum Yum is SO bright, I like to keep the rest of the face more natural looking when wearing this lipstick. It is definitely an attention getter!

What is your favorite bright lipstick?
