Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review!

Estee Lauder Double Wear is probably one of the most famous foundations of all time. I had a disaster with my first sample, as it was WAY too light for me and I looked like a major ghost (it was too light for bronzer to save). I went back to the counter and got a better match in the shade Ecru 1N2, which is a neutral beige color.

Look flawless all day and night. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, and non-stop activity. Lightweight and comfortable, it is clinically proven to last up to 15 hours without smudging or coming off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day and well into the night.

ELDWELDW Ecru, NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe, Covergirl 3-in-1 825 Buff Beige

This foundation does everything the description promises. I have never had a foundation last so long on my skin. It wears like iron! I brought my sample to NYC with me, where my days were easily over 15 hours long, and my makeup still looked great despite working all day and running around the city at night.

This is definitely not a daily wear foundation for me since I prefer sheer coverage, but I am considering purchasing a bottle, especially if I end up traveling for work more. I love how long this wears, and it doesn’t feel super heavy if applied with a beauty blender. My recommendation is to start with a little bit of product and work slowly until you get a feel for how it blends and what the coverage is like.

I might try a sample of ELDW Light to see if it has the same kind of staying power. I really wanted to look my best for my work trip since I was meeting new people and wanted to make a good first impression, and it served that purpose perfectly. I also find that it works fine with dry skin, which mine certainly has been this winter, but those with oily skin will likely love it.

A few other notes about this foundation:

  • It comes in 30 shades
  • It’s $37- very reasonable!
  • You might be able to find the old formulation at a CCO for less
  • Does not settle into lines
  • No SPF

I’m really pleased with the performance of this foundation and recommend getting a sample to try if you want something that is long-lasting. I can see why this is such a cult classic!

Not bad at all, but no SPF?

I’m sure you are going to enjoy the light version of the product. I’m seriously loving it.
But it’s good to know that the original formula is as great 🙂
