Ah, the very much HYPED Glam Glow mask! I love masks and have been seeing so many beauty peeps rave and rave about Glam Glow. I decided to try one myself and picked up this teeny-tiny jar (.5 ounces) from Sephora ($19). This is the exfoliating mask.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION (FROM SEPHORA)
This mud mask leaves skin noticeably radiant and glowing. It works with the body’s natural moisturizing collagen to provide gentle resurfacing exfoliation and helps to leave skin smoother, brighter, and softer. While providing tighter skin texture and tighter pores, it provides a more youthful appearance and absorbs impurities without removing natural oils.
I have mostly normal skin; occasionally when it is hotter I may experience some combination skin, but I don’t have any major issues like oil or acne. Since everyone claims this is some kind of miracle mask, I had very high expectations, and with the price point, my expectations were even higher. I was expecting my pores to be these opened floodgates of lost gunk. If you do a Google image search for Glam Glow, you will find all sorts of faces sporting these masks!
The texture of this mask is like most face masks. Nothing really stands out there, but it does contain some exfoliating pieces.
Warning: when you apply this mask, it will BURN. I had tears in my eyes, it hurt that much, and I don’t consider myself someone with terribly sensitive skin. If you have highly sensitive skin, I definitely do not recommend trying this, or at least do a patch test if you’re that curious about it.
As for the results, there were a few things that I liked. One is that my skin felt really smooth and soft. I also felt like my pores looked smaller in some areas, like on my nose.
That said, I wouldn’t purchase this or the larger size again, because I don’t think my skin needs it. I will continue to use drugstore masks every so often though.
One more tip: If you want to try Glam Glow but don’t want to shell out a ton of money, you can try a sample pack from their website.
Have you tried this much hyped mask? What do you think of it?
And a hint- I sampled the eye mask and really liked it. More on that in another post!
