The L’Oreal Privée collection is a limited edition collaboration with six famous ladies, channeling the idea that these are “nudes for all skin tones”. I was really excited for this collection since I favor nudes over brights most of the time, and ended up getting three shades:
- Doutzen’s Nude (Doutzen Kroes)
- Jennifer’s Nude (Jennifer Lopez)
- Julianne’s Nude (Julianne Moore)
The packaging is absolutely stunning for these lippies. The tubes are matte black with gold etching and the inside of the tube is gold as well. They are very chic and luxurious, but at an amazing price point, around $6 to $9 depending on where you’re shopping.
Doutzen’s Nude, Jennifer’s Nude, Julianne’s Nude
When I initially saw swatches online, I thought Jennifer’s Nude would be my favorite. When I looked at them in the store, I thought Doutzen’s Nude would be my favorite. Funnily enough, my favorite is Julianne’s Nude.
Doutzen’s Nude– Peach
Jennifer’s Nude– Medium pink
Julianne’s Nude– Light pink
As you can probably tell, there’s not a huge difference in these when combined with my natural lip color. Each shade has a pearl finish and they are quite sheer. Another thing to note is that they are heavily scented with a perfumed, sweet rose scent. If you don’t like scented products, you will hate this. I have to say that I’m not a fan of the scent. It is very “granny’s powder room” to me. It isn’t a bad scent per se, but I don’t want my lipstick to smell like that either!
Having seen the entire line, I think the most universal and wearable shade is Jennifer’s Nude.
I’m still considering Frieda’s nude, but the scent is kind of turning me off from purchasing more, despite liking the shades.
What do you think? Do you mind the scent of L’Oreal lipsticks?
