This sample was a little surprise from Sephora. I love when that happens! Of course, this is a $67 foundation, so of course they’re trying to sell it, right? I love matte foundation, so I was definitely eager to try Dolce & Gabbana’s Perfect Matte Liquid Foundation. My sample shade is 100 Natural Glow, which is fifth in the shade line-up out of 15 shades.
This adaptable fluid foundation contains the matte-adapt complex that autocorrects at the first signs of imperfection to preserve the integrity of the foundation film all day long. Its velvety texture translates into a smooth matte finish that is seamlessly tailored to the skin.
Um, what? Auto-correcting foundation? I’ve seriously heard it all now! 🙂
D&G, MAC Matchmaster in 2.0, NARS Sheer Matte in Santa Fe, Boots Matte Cool Ivory, Rimmel Stay Matte in Ivory
So does it autocorrect? I have no idea, but it did look good all day long and last for hours. I hate to say that I loved a $67 foundation, but this stuff truly did knock my socks off. A little goes a long way with this foundation. The sample packet has at least three uses in it, if not more than that (just enough to figure out if you love it or not). It does build nicely if you need it, but it doesn’t take much to cover up either. I had no problems with oxidation, but foundations rarely oxidize on me.
I think this would be a great foundation for a variety of skin types. It isn’t oily, and it isn’t so matte that it is drying or hard to move. The shade I have is on the yellow side, but not as yellow as MAC Matchmaster.
What are your thoughts on high end foundations? Ridiculously overpriced? Worth it?
