The Big Easy is Benefit’s “Bigger than BB” claim. It is a liquid to powder foundation with SPF 35 (always appreciated!). I had two sample cards from Sephora with testers, which was enough to wear and swatch.
Big Easy contains ingredients known to help balance moisture and control oil, while the cushiony liquid-to-powder formula melts in like a cream, yet finishes lightweight and velvety like a powder. This multibalancing complexion perfector self-adjusts to your exact shade to even out skintone and conceal imperfections. It also contains ingredients known to soothe and comfort the skin and help fight free radicals.
This product is also oil-free and comes with some big claims! Here’s my experience with it, coming from a mostly normal skin person. Depending on the time of year I might get some oiliness, but not much.
Balanced moisture & oil – I think this is mostly true. My skin did feel moisturized from it, but I don’t think it was “stopping” oil or anything. Still, I did not look super oily while wearing it.
Smoothed & evened out skin texture– Yes, but I could still see some redness through it.
Improved skin’s appearance– Well, since it looked more even, I guess it did do that! I don’t think it actually improved my skin at all though.
Lightweight finish– Definitely yes! This is a very lightweight product.
Fair, Light, Light/Medium, Medium, Beige, & Deep Beige
I really like the texture of The Big Easy. It feels soft and silky, like a gel foundation. I do hesitate to call this a full blown foundation though. It seems more like a BB cream or CC cream; something with lighter coverage. It does dry to a matte, powder finish, which I like. I was able to wear light, light/medium, and the medium shade. Light and Light/Medium are extremely similar to each other. Also, the shade range isn’t very good, especially for those with darker skin tones.
I think this is a good product for people wanting a refreshed look, but don’t want to bother with concealer and already have pretty good skin. I found that it lasted well throughout the day just fine, and it didn’t feel like I was wearing makeup. It is definitely a “dash out the door” product, meaning it would be perfect for someone in a rush or who doesn’t want to spend time applying makeup. It would also be very easy to touch up this product since it seems to build nicely.
The Big Easy is $38. I don’t see myself purchasing this since it didn’t WOW me, but it seems like a decent product for my first impression! 🙂
