I was sent the Perlier Honey Gold Royal Elixir from iFabbo, which is a blogging platform that occasionally sends product samples through their “shop.” You sign up as a blogger, and product sent are based on a “coins” system. If you write a review, you get “coins’, which allow you to continue receiving samples in the future.
I was excited to try this fancy schmancy face serum! I’ve used other Perlier products before, and have always enjoyed them.
- Exclusive and innovative Youth Elixir with fresh Royal Jelly and other key ingredients
- Helps aged skin appear renewed and more youthful-looking
- Non-irritating complex of ingredients may be used around the eye area
- Formula in which all water has been replaced by rose distillate
- Rose distillate has been shown to have moisturizing and toning properties
- Formula contains approximately 70% functional key ingredients
After some consistent use, I have a few things to say about this serum. First, it is SO soft and luxurious. I love how it feels on my skin. It is conditioning and sinks right in. I was using it in the daytime, but have since switched to putting it on at night, because I don’t like to pile on so many layers (Serum, moisturizer, then maybe primer and foundation and powder? Too much for me).
The Royal Elixir doesn’t really have a smell. I totally expected it to smell like honey, but it does not.
Did it change my skin? I can’t say that I saw a huge improvement in my skin after a few weeks of use, but it felt better conditioned, if that makes sense. It felt smooth and soft, and looked more even. Also, it seemed a little brighter, but it wasn’t life-changing or anything.
My issue with this product is the price tag. This serum is $99. Maybe if I were older and had more to take care of on my face, I would want to purchase this for that price, but on my 33-year-old face, I just don’t need a $99 serum (in my opinion). Also, Perlier products can also be found at discount shops like Marshall’s and TJMaxx at a much lower price tag. I believe HSN has some packs where you can get the serum and an eye cream at the same price as well. Personally, I would not purchase this serum for so much, especially when there aren’t that many reviews out there! That is not a knock on the brand at all- I love their shower gels and hand creams (of which I’ve purchased on my own).
Have you tried this before? What are your thoughts?
