Fitness Friday: DISNEY!!


AHHHHHH! I cannot contain my excitement! Where do I begin? Well, let me update briefly on summer running.

1- I hate heat. It isn’t even THAT hot here compared to most places, but it is humid and every run is torture if it’s over 60 degrees.

2- I ran four races in four days last weekend. All 5Ks, but still challenging.

3- Last month, I ran my best 10K race yet.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff! My friend and I signed up for the Glass Slipper Challenge at Disney World in February 2015! If you haven’t heard of the GSC, it consists of running the 10K the day before the Princess Half Marathon. I haven’t been to Disney World since I was in 6th grade. 19.3 miles in two days. The pace allowance is a 16 minute mile which is pretty generous; even walking we would be able to finish without a problem. This is also going to be perfect training for a marathon. I’m not signed up for a marathon, but I have the bug and want to run one next year if I get motivated enough.

I can’t believe I am going to Disney World! It is going to be a complete whirlwind, but so much fun! Sign up actually went quite smoothly and we were in pretty quickly. This was of course followed up with much jumping up and down and screaming. 🙂

Did anyone else out there sign up for this? Have you done it before? Any tips? 🙂
