Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow in Beach Sand and Rio De Rose Gold

Hello! I’m so excited about these eyshadows I have to show you! These are the new Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor eyeshadows. I picked up two shades from Sephora: Beach Sand and Rio De Rose Gold. I don’t have anything like these shadows, so the eyeshadow junkie in me was easily drawn in.

This refreshing, pigment-packed liquid shadow makes eyes look and feel more hydrated. It has two layers: the first delivers fresh coconut water, and the second provides a layer of argan-infused pigments to give eyes a more youthful appearance and minimize the appearance of fine lines.

How the pigments look when settled

Although curious, I didn’t have high expectations. Because these are wet, I assumed that they would take awhile to set, and not work on someone with deep set eyes like myself. I thought that these would be a mess! I’m happy to report that this is NOT the case!

Same order, different lighting

There are six shades in the Coconut Watercolor eyeshadow line, and they are priced at $18 each. Some Josie Maran products are quite pricy, but I thought these were reasonable. The applicator inside of the bottle is a sponge tip, and it is easy to apply to the lid. I used it to dab the product on the middle of my eyelid, and then I slowly patted it around with a shadow brush. This method worked well. Before applying though, you will need to shake this to get the pigments distributed in throughout the water.

I was really surprised at how fast the shadow dried. They aren’t messy, and they don’t slide all over the place, despite how wet they are. They are quite metallic and shiny, especially the rose gold color! One it dries, it does not BUDGE! It’s also easy to use other powder shadows with it.

Another thing I love about these shadows is how they feel. When I apply them to my lids, they give a gentle cooling feeling. I seriously love this in the morning, as it feels like a little treat for my eyes!

These are a huge WIN for me. I can’t speak for the other shades, but Rio De Rose Gold and Beach Sand are fantastic. I hope more shades are released!

I am so glad you did a review on this because I was interested in picking up one to try, but I was not totally certain if they were budge resistant since I have oily lids. What kind of lids do you have? Any suggestions to help me stay crease free?

My lids aren’t very oily, but because my eyes are deep set (slightly hooded), I didn’t think these would work. Surprisingly they dried quickly. I used a primer and did not have any problems with creasing. 🙂 I was actually surprised at how well they stayed!
