Tutorial: Vibrant Grape Concert Look

Hello! I went to see Tori Amos last night, and thought it would be a great time to do a night out/concert tutorial. For some reason I was feeling the purples here. Plus, I had to wear MAC Raspberry Swirl lipstick (the name of a Tori song, yay!).

Most of the items I used are from MAC, but you can of course switch it up with other brands in similar color families. I wanted a long wearing look that would last for around 12 hours.

1- First, I filled in my brows with MAC’s Deep Dark Brunette brow gel.

2- I primed my lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and then added Smashbox cream shadow in Topaz on top for extra longevity.

3- Using a fluffy crease brush, I blended MAC Samoa Silk into the crease and up to the brow bone.

4- With a MAC 239 brush, I applied MAC Vibrant Grape eyeshadow all over the lid.

C35- Using a small detailer brush, I slowly worked MAC Carbon into and outside of the crease.

6- With a fluffy brush, I blended out Carbon, and cleaned off the excess shadow. Next, I used MAC Gesso and applied it all over the brow bone to the inner corner of the eye.

7- Using another detailer brush, I applied The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer to the inner corner of the eyes. With the same brush, I tapped a little bit of MAC Vex onto the inner corner of the eyelid.

8- I lined my top lash line with Urban Decay Perversion liner, very lightly. Going back to the detailer brush, I smudged a little more Carbon to the lower lash line.

9- Finally, I used Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara after curling my lashes.

When the eyes were done, I worked on the rest of my face!

1- First, I primed my face with the Hourglass Mineral Veil primer. Next, I applied MAC Matchmaster in 2.0 all over my face. This is a fantastic foundation and lasts for hours. I didn’t use any concealer, but you can if needed!

2- With a fluffy brush, I applied MAC Full of Joy blush to my cheeks. This is pretty light on me, but since the eyes are dramatic, I’m fine with that.

3- With the same brush, I applied TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer at the tops of my cheekbones.

4- Continuing with the same brush, I lightly buffed MAC Refined Golden Bronzer around my hairline and under my jawline.

5- To finish the look, I pressed Maybelline Dream Matte powder in Honey all over my face, and spritzed MAC Fix+ to set everything.

Last but not least, I applied MAC Prep + Prime and MAC Raspberry Swirl to my lips to finish the look.

The show was AMAZING of course. When we got there, the tickets weren’t scanning right and they had us go to guest services. Of course I was totally panicking that I did something wrong printing them out. As it turns out, they upgraded our seats from the way back of the balcony to the MAIN FLOOR! I actually prefer sitting in the balcony if I can be somewhere near the front, but our seats were in the way back. The set list was fantastic, lots of old stuff and b-sides.

That’s it! 🙂
