Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation + Airbrush Finish Kabuki Brush

I feel like I’ve spent most of my summer in some sort of hurry. πŸ™‚ This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because I’ve been having fun, but I haven’t been taking the time to unwind with my morning routine. It has been more about getting out the door or working so I can have fun! Because of this, I’ve been loving powder foundations. Tarte’s Amazonian Airbrush Clay Foundation has been my favorite so far!

tarte4I had a little sample jar of this that I received awhile back from Sephora. The shade is “fair light neutral”, which has yellow and pink undertones. I thought this was a decent match for me but would like to see the next shade up since it has peach undertones.

The texture of this foundation is very, very light. It reminds me of how finely milled the NARS Light Reflecting powder is, maybe even finer and softer than that, if you can imagine it!

There are powder foundations that I like, but I find they don’t last all that long. Liquid has always lasted much longer on my skin. This lasts all day without a problem. I went to Chicago last weekend and spent about 14 hours in this foundation and it still looked decent when I removed it.

Another thing that I like about this foundation is that it builds nicely. I usually only need one application, but I can add another layer without it looking caked on. It gives my skin a “soft focus” effect, and I apply it after my moisturizer dries.

Of the swatches above, Tarte’s Fair-Light is the closest match to MAC’s MSF Natural in Medium.

Here I am wearing the foundation without a primer or concealer. Excuse how tired I look…that was a LONG and early morning. πŸ˜‰ I had been wearing the foundation for about seven hours at this point. This powder is supposed to improve the condition of your skin after continued use. I can’t say that I’ve noticed that since I don’t really have skin issues.

Overall verdict: I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION! I see the full-size container in my future.

The airbuki brush I’ve had for awhile, and I love it! It really does work perfectly with this foundation, but I’ve used it for blush and applying setting powder too.

Product Description

Buff your way to airbrushed complexion perfection with this soft brush that’s the perfect complement to the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. Versatile and made from sustainably harvested bamboo and synthetic bristles, this brush allows you to flawlessly apply powder foundation like a pro. Travel-friendly and cruelty-free, this brush fits perfectly into the mesh sifter on the foundation for clean and easy application every time.

The airbuki has held up for several washings now and it’s very soft. It’s easy to travel with as well since it’s pretty compact.

Both items are a definite win in my book! πŸ™‚

Have you tried this foundation? I would love to know what you think of it!

It looks SO soft and smooth, really finely milled. This is one I haven’t tried yet, but I’m definitely interested in! :))
