Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No.3 Plush Shadow in The Innocent 116

The Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No.3  Plush Shadow ($39) in The Innocent is a small eyeshadow palette with a super long name (seriously!). I have been wanting to try shadows in the Marc Jacobs line for awhile, but have been so indecisive about which one that I opted for one of the smaller, more affordable palettes. Unfortunately, I did not find any reviews of this online, so it was a blind buy!

I love the packaging of this compact. It comes in a little black bag, has a large mirror, and is very slim. This is perfect for traveling.

This palette comes with three shades: a champagne taupe, medium brown, and light brown beige. The champagne shade is very glittery, and the other two shades are matte. At first, I was a little disappointed with the large champagne taupe shade, but once I got to using it, I definitely found its charm! It doesn’t seem pigmented at first, especially if you use a fluffy brush. I found that this shade works best with a flat brush, like the 242. It is possible to get more pigment that way. That said, it does take a little work to use this color, and at $39, should you REALLY have to work that hard? Definitely not.

Another way I like to use the large shade is by blending it with other colors. This mixed in with either of the matte shades in this palette is beautiful; it gives a very subtle sparkle that I love! I’ve also used it in conjunction with brighter colors.

The matte shades are impressive. They are SO soft and blend easily. The quality is fantastic. All three colors are beautiful, but I don’t think I would blindly buy another one of these palettes (I say that now…). I would rather wait and see the palettes in person, which is difficult because I don’t live near a Sephora that sells Marc Jacobs.

I do want to get one of the larger palettes, but I haven’t been able to decide on one yet. Any recommendations?
