September 2014 Favorites

It’s favorites time again! I love writing these posts because it’s fun to look back on what I really use and enjoy. Plus, I like going back to read them later!

I’m just going to start with the GIANT favorite taking up the entire photo: The Smashbox Master Class 3 Palette. I am SO happy with this purchase. I have a review in the works, so I won’t say too much here, but yes, get this palette if you have been thinking about it!

Studio Basics Bronzer Brush– I’ve had this brush for ages and it never fails to deliver. I use it for blush, bronzer, and highlighting. I think this is around $8-$10 at Ulta.

MAC CC Illuminate powder– This is the lavender pressed powder in the CC line. I love this for brightening the under eye area, and it even makes a decent matte highlight.

MAC Hush Cream Colour Base– I’ve been into cream highlighters lately and this one is just beautiful peachy gold goodness.

NARS Mississippi Mermaid eyeshadow– This was a limited edition eyeshadow from last holiday season, and I use it all the time as a brow highlight. I usually switch up my makeup, but for some reason I can use this for weeks at a time without minding. It’s that pretty!

MAC Mehr lipstick– I reviewed this awhile ago, but I have fallen hard for this again. It’s so long-lasting and the color is gorgeous; a flattering shade for everyone.

MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot– Groundwork is my go to, but this month I’ve been reaching for this one more and more. It’s beautiful alone or with complimentary shadows.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire in Nude Ballet- I love this lipstick/gloss hybrid. It’s comfortable, doesn’t have a weird smell, and the nude color is gorgeous. It’s super glossy but lightweight.

What gorgeous picks! I’m totally into highlighters. Is that the Jouer ‘Tiare’ highlighter in that one picture with the divine looking Mac peachy one? (I’ve been obsessed with “maybe” purchasing it, but it looks so white in pictures.) Have you seen the Jouer illuminating blush that is supposed to color up with your skin in about 15 minutes? (It looks and sounds so gorgeous! Now you’ve got me wanting that Mac highlighter, too! Last week I got the Tarte illuminating blush and highlighter combo in Champagne. It’s gorgeous, plus on sale. The cream blush is on the end of the highlighter tube- it’s a roundish shape. The colors are stunning, but the design of the tube with the blush/highlighter is not all that great. You have to screw off the blush on top to use the highlighter in the tube. In fact, I find it rather clumsy, and maybe that’s why it’s on sale! But the color is just beautiful- almost like a rosy-bronze and subtle golden rolled into one.

Thanks, Erin! I do not have Jouer Tiare, but now I am definitely going to look it up! 🙂 I have a few Jouer products that I really like. It’s a brand I need to explore more of! I have been intrigued by those Tarte blush/highlighter combos but haven’t purchased one yet!

Hi Melissa, I don’t have any Jouer products yet, but they sent me a 25% off coupon code just for signing up to receive emails from them so am contemplating a purchase. The shade ‘Tiare’ seems to get good reviews- I’ve yet to find a bad one even though I’ve looked. (Btw, love your blog. I’m a pink addict, too. Gotta’ have pink!) Have you seen the new 3 shade blush pallet from Hourglass yet? Ooo, goes on sale Oct. 1 at Sephora online. Has only been available for sale to VIB Rouge level customers so far, which kinda’ chaps me a bit.

I have a few eyeshadows and a couple of lip products from Jouer, all of which I really like. I may have to check for that coupon! 😀 I’m glad you enjoy my blog; that means a lot to me, and thank you for commenting! I have seen the Hourglass palette…I really want to try one of their blushes! They are soooo soft!!
