Current Foundation Routine with NARS Hot Sand Illuminator

I had a couple of foundations in my Project 10 Pan tag post, and since I’ve been keeping it light, the MAC Mineralize powder foundation is what I have been using the most. While traveling or going out of town for the weekend, it is the easiest one to wear since it’s so easy and fast to apply.

Before applying the MAC foundation, I’ve been mixing Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream with NARS Hot Sand Illuminator. WHY did this have to be limited edition? This is pretty much the perfect highlighter for me. It is a beautiful champagne peach shade and I love mixing it with the UD BB cream.

Although I’m pretty much over the whole BB cream thing, I really like the Urban Decay one. The texture is so soft and I love how it feels on my skin! It looks super orange in the tube, but it doesn’t really put much color on my face at all. Instead, it just smooths my skin and blurs pores, making it easier to apply the MAC foundation.

Now my dilemma- NARS Hot Sand is getting harder and harder to find. It is still online at Barneys, but since this is limited edition, it is gone from Nordstrom and NARS itself. Sad! If this weren’t a liquid, I would probably back this up immediately.

This photo shows about 7 hours of wear. I also ended up wearing this out for a run, since I didn’t bother to take it off before that, and thanks to Hot Sand, I still looked refreshed (although very sweaty!).

Are there any dupes for Hot Sand out there? I’m obsessed!

You should check out Becc’s Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Moonstone or Opal. I think one of them might work in place of Hot Sand.

Oops, that should be Becca’s, not Becc’s.
