Smashbox Mini Full Exposure Palette Review + Swatches

Smashbox released a travel-sized full exposure palette that includes eight neutral shades that are in the larger, full-sized Full Exposure palette. I purchased mine at Ulta, but it is also available at Sephora.

This versatile eye shadow set provides eight must-have neutrals in one portable palette. From nudes to blacks, these crease-resistant, long-wear shimmers and velvety smooth mattes are organized with shimmers on top and mattes on the bottom so that they are easy to use.

This is a slick little palette. If you’re planning on doing any traveling, it doesn’t get much more compact than this; the palette is about the size of a credit card, and it’s very thin.

The palette contains four matte shades and four shimmer shades. I actually ended up using the color in the bottom right corner for my brows, so the palette can multitask depending on what colors you need for your brows. The lighter shimmery shades also work as highlighters (I used them for this when I forgot a highlight on a weekend trip).

The mirror is also a nice size; just right for applying shadow.

I think the shadows are of good quality. You do have to pack on the shimmery shades, or use them wet to get good color payoff. I just spray a little Fix+ on my shadow before applying, which makes the shadows more intense. While it’s easy to get a natural look, you can also get a bold look with this palette.

This palette is just SO easy to grab for a weekend out of town. If you’re going to do any long-term traveling, this would also be a great palette for that. One thing to note is that the packaging doesn’t really provide any cushioning if you drop it. I dropped mine onto the counter top out of my bag at a hotel, and the matte cream shade crumbled a little and broke off on the sides. That isn’t a deal breaker for me since it was my own fault, but it is worth noting.

I don’t think this is a must have palette, especially if you have a lot of neutrals, but I do like it and am happy with it!
