Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

DERMA*Sent for review from iFabbo

I already reviewed the Sephora Exfoliating Powder, and now I have this one from Dermalogica to share!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Gentle, daily use exfoliating powder for all skin conditions. Unique Rice-based powder formula activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter.

The powder comes in a tall plastic jar with two openings to dispense the powder. I actually really like how simple this design is. I always find that when powder products have five or six holes, the powder doesn’t disperse evenly. This is really easy to just shake out gently and it doesn’t dispense too much or too little at a time.

The powder is very soft and finely milled. The Sephora exfoliating powder is scratchier than Dermalogica. Both require mixing with water to use.

I have to say that the Dermalogica Microfoliant wins hands down for a couple of reasons. First, it is a lot softer on the skin. When mixed with water, it forms into a very soft paste. The paste, although it is exfoliating, also conditions as it washes away, which leaves my skin feeling really soft. I have been using this every night after removing my makeup, and my skin feels fantastic afterwards!

I also think this would be a good exfoliating powder for those with sensitive skin because it is so soft.

This is a five-star product on the Dermalogica website, and I can see why! If I had to choose between the Sephora and Dermalogica exfoliating powder, I would definitely pick this one even though it is more expensive ($56). I’m not trying to compare them so much, but since I’ve only used two powders like this, I figured they related to each other. 🙂

The first time I used it, I couldn’t wait to use it again. Now it is becoming a staple in my night routine, since it is gentle enough for daily use. This is a huge home run!
