Lookbook: Classic Red Lip + Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Review

Happy Birthday to my DAD today! 🙂

Every once in awhile, I go through a smokey eye, red lip phase. While I love how black shadow looks on others, I’ve never been a real fan of it on myself; instead, I prefer brown. That said, this is a look that makes me feel really feminine and classic, which I love. Here’s what I used!

MAC Fluidline Brow Gel in Deep Dark Brunette
Makeup Geek Moondust eyeshadow
Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma eyeshadow
Makeup Geek Corrupt eyeshadow
Physicians Formula 2-in-1 liner
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Mary Kay TimeWise Luminous Foundation in Beige 2
NARS Olympia blush/contour palette (as blush)
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 (highlight)
NARS Creamy Concealer
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

MAC RiRi Woo Prolongwear Lip Pencil
MAC Viva Glam Rhianna

Awhile back, I purchased a small Laura Mercier set from Sephora that contained two mini items, including this highlighting powder. It’s really beautiful and definitely my kind of color, as it is a pink-beige shade.

Although it says “matte” radiance, it does have some shimmer and glitter, so it is not your traditional matte. That said, I don’t find it to be that way on the skin. It leaves behind a beautiful sheen.

I’m very happy to have the mini size, and I’ve been gravitating toward this a lot this month (don’t be surprised if when it’s in my favorites!).

    Hi Melissa,
Happy Birthday to your Dad! I just love your beauty blog! Smokey eyes with red lips looks awesome on you. I have brown eyes and just love smokey brown eyes too but I pair mine with a pale pink lipstick. I wish I could pull off red lips. Have a great day!
