Best Beauty Tools: Jane Iredale Flocked Sponge

If you use powder, one of the best ways to make it look natural is to use a sponge and press it onto the skin. A lot of powders come with cheap puffs that just don’t get the job done, but it is easy to find affordable puffs that last for a long time for under $10. One of my favorites is the Jane Iredale Flocked Sponge.

A sponge with a nap that glides across the skin. Applies and blends minerals like no other sponge. Washable and will last forever. Use to take off any excess minerals or to add more minerals where needed for camouflage.

As you can see, I have a few of these! 🙂 I like to keep multiples on hand for when they get dirty.

This is not only for use with mineral makeup of course; I use it with all kinds of powders. This sponge is super soft, and it washes well. I’ve washed mine several times and they still feel brand new. I’ve been using these for over a year and haven’t had to throw one out yet, so the “lasts forever” part of the description has been true thus far. 🙂

I really like how this sponge is shaped. It is easy to mold it to the contours of your face with the slightly curved edges. I use this in sweeping motions, or with pressing.

I order my sponges from Nordstrom, especially when they have awesome beauty samples happening. With any Nordstrom beauty order, you can select 3 free samples and they also have free shipping. Samples include brands like Chanel, Estee Lauder, Burberry, and other high end brands. That’s how I was able to sample the Cle de Peau concealer! 🙂

I like the MAC Luxury Powder Puffs as well, and they come in packs of two for $12, so no real significant price difference there.

If you’re a powder puff user or are looking for a good one, I definitely recommend the Jane Iredale Flocked Sponge!

Hi Melissa, definitely going to get one of these. I can see how its flat shape would help press powder into your skin, and I like the curved edges. Btw, I got my first BBrown shimmer brick in Copper Diamonds! I love it! It gives that sought after glow most well. No lizard scale sheen! (It was VERY difficult choosing between all of them- I wanted the Sandstone terribly as you most raved about it- but opted for this as the shading was a bit lighter and more on the golden side. I think I want the Rose Quartz one next.) Also got her color corrector and creamy concealer. A bit disappointed with them, as I wanted more dark circle coverage and a creamier blending consistency for under eye wrinkles. I think they are high quality, and the compacts are darling, but the creamy factor needs a bit more upping imo.

Oooh, I have been looking at Copper Diamonds! 🙂 It looks gorgeous! I also want the Beige shimmer brick. I have never tried the concealer or color corrector, even though people rave about them so much. I ordered a couple of items from the Bobbi Brown sale this weekend- the eyelash curler and the brush cleanser. PLUS they had choose 5 samples available, so I am REALLY excited about those! 🙂
